My Journey

In 1983 I moved to Los Angeles and entered into a dental practice which I soon purchased.  I had a wonderful, personable private dental practice that blossomed and grew.  I was particular about the details of dental treatments and understanding and conscientious about patients’ needs and concerns.  It seemed that the more I cared about my patients the more friendships, meaning and wisdom I received from them; and in my life.  In 2006 my chronic neck pain, caused by my occupational positioning and repetitive motion as a dentist increased and was not responding to treatments.  So, with great sadness, I sold my dental practice in 2007 to my associate who had been with me for 10 years.  My receptionist had been with me from 1983 and my 2 hygienists for 18 years and the same staff is in the practice today.  It crushed me to leave them and to leave my dental practice.  When we have loss and pain we must search out and seek transformation.

My endeavor to study hypnosis was fueled by my desires to manage my chronic neck, shoulder and arm pain and to pursue a career in which I could care for others.  Hypnotherapy has brought this to fruition.
I use hypnosis daily for pain management. I have changed my lifestyle and my relationship with food – I still love what I eat but I weigh 35 pounds less then I use to.  I walk the talk!
In this life journey we are on, things often happen to us that we don’t like and weaken us.  There are occurrences and events we cannot change the course of.  We can however, choose our evaluation of things that happen and change our thoughts and reactions. We make our reality by our self talk and our reactions and actions. Your mind is so powerful and has all the resources to make this shift.
I understand how it is so very difficult to have unwanted things happen. The cycle of the stages of loss seem to take us over. There is powerful fear of the unknown.  You have the desire to make a change, but you’re stuck in a cycle because you’re familiar with it, and you keep doing the same behaviors over and over, but you want to stop.
